Current Project Information L.A. Entertainment District We are assisting the L.A. Arena Company, owners of the new STAPLES Center Arena, in the development and entitlement of a Master Plan for a mixed use Entertainment District adjacent to STAPLES Center and the Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles. This recently announced project will include a 50-story hotel, 6,500 seat performing arts theater, night clubs, restaurants, retail stores, as well as offices and residential apartments. We are evaluating traffic and transportation impacts, access and circulation, and developing a multi-modal transportation strategy and parking management strategy for this major proposed new development.
We are conducting transportation studies and preparing the transportation plan for this major 450 acre planned unit development in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, located in the Rocky Mountains, midway between Vale and Aspen. This mixed use project will include residential units, business and office parks, a village retail/commercial center, regional serving retail, a community center and sports fields, and a transit center with park-and-ride facilities. We are evaluating future transportation conditions in the City, as well as the potential impacts of the project and developing transportation improvement solutions, including two roundabouts to improve a freeway interchange with I-70, roadway widening, intersection improvements, addition and increases in transit service and transportation demand management programs.
We are preparing the transportation element of the General Plan Update for the City of Azusa. This will include recommendations for the major roadway system, truck routes, bicycle and pedestrian routes, transit service, and parking policies. The General Plan is focusing on developing policies for smart growth and sustainable communities, and the transportation element will also address traffic calming, and strategies for making streets less auto-oriented and more pedestrian-friendly, so that they function as mobility corridors for all transportation modes rather than just the automobile.
We are supporting a multi-disciplinary planning team to develop a Specific Plan for the Downtown Island area of La Cañada Flintridge. This study has involved analyzing a variety of land use and transportation circulation alternatives within the downtown area in conjunction with extensive community involvement and public participation. The plan focuses on creating a pedestrian-oriented walkable Downtown Village, extending the local street grid system, and installing traffic calming measures along Foothill Boulevard through the downtown.
We prepared the traffic impact analysis for the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for this 350,000 square foot project in West Hollywood at the intersection of La Brea Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard that includes retail stores, restaurants, cinemas and office space. We conducted a comprehensive analysis of potential traffic impacts at nearby signalized intersections, unsignalized intersections, and on certain residential streets in adjacent neighborhoods. Transportation system improvements and traffic management measures were identified to mitigate project impacts.
We are supporting a multi-disciplinary planning and environmental team to analyze transportation and traffic impacts of a large mixed use development project adjacent to the North Hollywood Metro Red Line subway station. This proposed development will include an office campus, cinemas, office space, a hotel, retail stores, and other entertainment uses. The transportation analysis is taking account of the significant transit serving the site, including the Red Line subway, local and express bus service feeding the Red Line station, and the anticipated east end terminus of the San Fernando Valley Rapid Bus corridor. We are developing a multi-modal transportation plan that will address vehicular access and circulation to/within the site, parking needs, and pedestrian and bicycle circulation. We are also preparing the traffic impact study for the EIR.
We are participating in a multi-firm consulting team to prepare an update to a comprehensive transportation plan for San Bernardino County. Working with SANBAG (San Bernardino Associated Governments) we are evaluating alternative future transportation strategies to accommodate mobility needs within the County to the year 2030, and will develop a multi-modal transportation plan and recommendations for highway, transit, truck, and non-motorized travel to guide future transportation strategy and improvements in the County. Cheviot Hills Neighborhood Traffic Management Plan We are assisting two home owners association in the Cheviot Hills area of Los Angeles in development and refinement of a neighborhood traffic management plan to mitigate and reduce impacts of thru traffic, primarily associated with Century City, on these neighborhoods. This work involves working with home owners groups, Century City developers, and the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) to develop a comprehensive traffic management plan, including measures such as street restriping, turn restrictions and prohibitions, signal timing, speed humps, and physical roadway improvements, as well as monitoring of traffic levels.
We are working as part of a multi-disciplinary planning and engineering
design team on the implementation of the on-street bus transit center
on Owenmouth Avenue and Warner Center in the City of Los Angeles. This
central element of the Warner Center Specific Plan will provide for
up to ten on-street bus stops for local and express bus service as well
as the western terminus of the San Fernando Valley Rapid Bus corridor.
The facility will comprise a coordinated transit hub with improved sidewalks,
pedestrian, and bus passenger waiting facilities to serve transit users
in the Warner Center area. We are working closely with local stakeholders
and LADOT to advance this project from conceptual design to final design
and implementation. |
